“Oh beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife
Who more than self, their country loved
And mercy more than life
Oh beautiful, for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain”
These words belong to one the song America the Beautiful, perhaps one of the most recognizable and descriptive songs about this great nation. From shore to shore, and border to border, this nation is full of individuals, under God. We must remember how our nation was created. God led the founders to write the Declaration of Independence in the 1770’s and the Constitution in the 1780’s.
Now people have begun to forget the heroes who won this nation for us. They are forgetting those who fought in the world wars to protect us. They are forgetting President Lincoln freed the slaves, and instead are calling him a racist. They are willing and almost joyfully defacing tributes to our heros. Instead of focusing on the good in a person they are singling out the minute problems with people. They are slowly tearing apart the beauty that is so characteristic to America.
Last year the United States became energy independent for the first time in more than 70 years!! Gas prices were at a decade low. Jobless claims and unemployment dropped, and our economy was more stable than it has been in years. Capitalism was one of the beauties of America. Now it almost feels like we are being punished for succeeding so well. Our new President didn’t like President Trump, so he decided to undo everything good that Trump held together. Now we are stuck on a downward spiral. The beauty of capitalism is being taken away and the ugly barren landscape of socialism is beginning to take hold. Jobless claims and unemployment are at a scary high, and while some of this can be blamed on the pandemic, a large portion of it is due to our “Beloved King, Biden”.
We must fight against the tyrannical rule that is taking away our freedom, and destroying the beauty of America. If we don’t stand up and fight for capitalism our nation will be forever ruined by the Biden/Harris administration. Share what you’re doing to protect our beautiful nation in the comments below!
This is a good article, however, I wanted to add some perspective.
I don’t think it’s right to just always blame ‘the other side’. We’ve got to learn how to work together, because a house divided cannot stand. You can insist that you are right and that the other side is wrong, and maybe you’re correct, but insisting upon that division and conflict is only going to make the separation of our country worse. People who believe in Left or Right ideals believe in totally opposite things, and while that’s okay and even good, we’ve got to learn how to work together instead of just hating each other or always blaming the other side. Even if we are correct in our way of thinking and the other side IS wrong, we can’t just blame them for everything we don’t like. No one is perfectly right or perfectly wrong. We’ve got to work with them.
Biden isn’t perfect, but Trump wasn’t either. No one is. Yes, I disagree with a lot of choices they made/are making, but that doesn’t mean it’s right to take ‘sides’ and fight against each other. That’s like fighting another civil war.
I think a lot of power lies in us, the people, if we stand for change. We can stand for what we believe and still work with people that we disagree with. Part of having a free country means allowing opinions that we don’t like. It doesn’t mean we have to submit to them; it just means we should search for truth and share it with others in a kind fashion, trying to work together instead of working against each other. We can be much more unified that way.
What I’m proposing is not possible all at once. We’ve got to teach people to release hate and blame and instead love the people they disagree with and want to work with them, not against them. This will take a lot of work. It will require leaders who are willing to go against the grain, think outside of the box, and do something unheard of. But I think it’s possible.
Amen! I am grateful you were willing to speak up for your beliefs. We need more people like you! The ones seeking the middle ground and attempting to compromise! Thank you for taking the courage to speak up!
