I am sure that the Nazis would be disgusted at what they would see plaguing our thoughts and institutions today. But for all their hate and disgust, their attempts at purity only led the West to run as far away from Nazism as they could. Now the pendulum has traveled back to its other side, and they have inadvertently caused what they hated. From the fear they generated, Marxist ideas and actions were able to entrench their hold over society.
Now we live in a world that is almost completely controlled by the Left. Almost every institution, almost every idea, and almost every action is Leftist. And yet, they still believe that they are anti-establishment. This comes not only from the nature of ideology, but from the realization that despite capturing the government bureaucracy, the schools, the publishers, the news, the colleges, and all sorts of non-democratic leadership, there is still an active resistance from the citizenry of the United States. The Left has scooped up women, racial minorities, sexual minorities, and all sorts of other groups with perceived ‘oppression’ without their consent. And it has whittled them into a highly successful fighting force who have dismantled much of our civilization. It has gathered the opposite of those traits into a group of people and has labeled them as the enemy and the cause of all issues. But the Left does not care about women or black people or any other group of people that it upholds; it cares only for its ideology, and when they don’t fit, they are cast out. And for those who don’t fit? The only option is obedient subservience.
Is there any wonder that this will backfire? The Nazis were some of the most competent people in the world, but were so obsessed with purity that they turned almost everyone against them. Had they been willing to make allies with people that they deemed subhuman, they might have been able to end the war in their favor. Instead, everyone watched in satisfaction as they were destroyed.
As the Left marches on to produce what it perceives as history’s end, it purifies itself. It updates its list of ideological metrics, then throws out those who do not meet them. It cannot compromise with different groups of people or allow these people to stay as they are, as it would destroy the ideology’s purity, and thus its purpose. The Left does not allow people to be normal because being normal is being complicit, so it drives its ideology into things that are not even remotely political. People must either join or become disillusioned. This disillusionment leads to hate and rejection of Leftist ideas, prompting people who would not otherwise be so to become bigoted.
This is what the Left wants and has been their main strategy for the last hundred and fifty years. I am by no means the first person to discover this or to talk about this, it is a clear principle in their defining literature. They will bait their opponent to hate and violence, then attack them, rather justly, with the law.
Our backlash against the Left has to be done with moderation. Otherwise, we will move to another extreme that will not help us and more than likely will cause the Left to be able to justify its existence. Rather, we must understand our beliefs, ratify them with reason, facts, and historical learning, then stand by them, not with dogmatism, but with a firmness for the upholding of truth.
We are Americans. We have been tasked since the beginning to uphold America, that we, our children, and their children may live in a free country. And that they may be able to grow and prosper in peace. Your inabilities and unknowing do not matter, this is your birthright. You have been privileged to be born in such a country, it is now your responsibility to care for it. We must do all that we can to preserve our country, our culture, and the religion and truths it is built on. I have great faith in us. Despite the uncertainty, I believe that America will not fail.
