This year marks the 250th anniversary of American independence—a milestone born of courage, conviction, and conflict. Across these two and a half centuries, the legacy of that founding moment has influenced the lives of all who set foot in the United States. In tribute to the great men who penned and signed the Declaration of Independence, I plan to write a series of short essays commemorating each of the fifty-six signers. I will not write these in a set order but will write as curiosity and circumstance guide me. I invite you to join me in rediscovering their stories as we journey together through the roads of history.
